RAGTAG

Thanks Nin for tagging me last week. Here's a series of odd tag questions with answers that I can see leading me to nowhere. But ragtag is exactly how I feel today, so I'm doing this to de-stress :)

1. Name one person who made you laugh last night.
Why specifically last night? Nobody then. But I had a lot of laughs before.

2. What were you doing at 0800?
Taking a hot shower to soothe my aching muscles

3. What were you doing 30 minutes ago?
Doing the headless chicken routine

4. What happened to you in 2006?
Learn to be a mom - still am!

5. What was the last thing you said out loud?
Out loud as in shouting? "Please be quiet Nunu, Momma's driving!"

6. How many beverages did you have today?
One - the new 3 in 1 Nescafe with ginger

7. What color is your hairbrush?
Brown - Mom said I had this hairbrush since I was a baby. She didn't remember when or where she got it, but it was there when I was born. I used to joke that the hairbrush is my twin at birth, as people over here say - 'sama jadi'.

8. What was the last thing you paid for?
McDonald's Chicken foldover for myself, and a chicken mcdeluxe for my assistant

9. Where were you last night?
I was in Sg. Besar, Sabak Bernam for my bro's wedding, then we traveled up north, passing quaint small town and sleepy-hollow-like kampungs with odd names that I can't remember right now.

10. What color is your front door?
Our home does not have a front door, we only have sliding doors and grills. We have a side door near the kitchen that we use all the time. It's brown and made of wood. Tell me again, why is this information necessary?

11. Where do you keep your change?
Where most people do, I guess. In my purse, and in the car's coin compartment. Oh yeah, in a piggy bank too!

12. What’s the weather like today?
Mendung & awan berarak kelabu...

13. What’s the best ice-cream flavor?
Chocolate mint

14. What excites you?
Supermodels. Yeah, you heard me right. I'm no fashionista, but I can look at them all day. I'm especially interested if they're intelligent as a plus factor

15. Do you want to cut your hair?
Probably not.

16. Are you over the age of 25?
Yeah, and this is a necessary question because.....?

17. Do you talk a lot?
I'm quiet by nature, but I do get friendly easily with friendly people. Kalau orang senyap, aku pun senyap jugak.

18. Do you watch the O.C.?
You gotta be kidding me.

19. Do you know anyone named Steven?
Yes. But why Steven? Why why why are you asking me all this???

20. Do you make up your own words?
Most if the time, but I'm Cornelia Queen of Corniness so prolly everything I say, you've heard it somewhere before. I also have an acute case of spoonerism, so yeah I come up with new words all the time.

21. Are you a jealous person?
A little bit, not much.

22. Name a friend whose name starts with the letter ‘A’.
Afidah

23. Name a friend whose name starts with the letter ‘K'
Hmm.. I need my hp's phonebook for this. Looks like I don't have any. Most of them are all listed as 'Kak'. But I do have cousins with forenames that start with 'Kasma'

24. Who’s the first person on your received call list?
I don't understand this question. The first person on my received call list is the last person who called me, right? Or do you mean the first name listed in my phone book? Confuse laa..

25. What does the last text message you received say?
Just a stupid ad message from Maxis

26. Do you chew on your straw?
I don't. Nunu does.

27. Do you have curly hair?
Straight with lotsa rambut gatal.

28. Where’s the next place you’re going to?
I'm at work now, so I prolly head to fetch Nunu after work.

29. Who’s the rudest person in your life?
I've met rude people all the time, but they're not IN my life, KWIM? So, I gotta say, the person who is constantly rude to me is no other than my husband. But that's prolly because I'm such a rude wife to start with :) But don't worry, we kiss and make up after that.

30.What was the last thing you ate?
A leftover pink-coloured cake that the trainees brought in for their farewell urm... party last Friday (it wasn't really a 'party', they brought the food, we just ate :) Actually, as I'm writing this, I'm still having the cake.

31. Will you get married in the future?
??? Get married again, you mean? I hope not

32. What’s the best movie you’ve seen in the past 2 weeks?
I haven't seen a good movie in the past 2 years.

33. Is there anyone you like right now?
Like, as in.... ? Well, no. I'm over Wentworth, in fact , and no one has replaced him yet.

34. When was the last time you did the dishes?
This morning, before heading off to work.

35. Are you currently depressed?
I'm always at a different level of depression at different times.

36. Did you cry today?
Yes. I do almost every day.

37. Why did you answer and post this?
Lerrr... because I was tagged, that's because!

8 RANDOM FACTS: FAKTA ATAU AUTA :D

Thanks Kiddo's Mom from the Modds who tagged me with this meme (well, in case you don't know, I LOVE doing memes, so everyone out there who's reading this, TAG ME! TAG ME!)

I'll try to make this meme as different as the other two memes (pelik tetapi benar) , but alas my brain has been hit by mental drought and I can't seem to find any facts about me that's worth blogging about. Hmm okay, make that - any NEW facts worth blogging about. You guys already know that I can be a little bit of a gundu, a little of a dingbat, a little bit melodramatic melancholic at the drop of a hat, a little bit unfortunate in the kitchen department, a little quirky, but you guys want FACTS, right? Not triteness. So here goes!

1. I'm taking this cue from Hetz, who talked about the origins of her name too. I won't reveal my real name here, but my mom nearly named me Sri Suzila Suziyanti. Thankfully, she agreed to go ahead with the name my dad chose when a fellow doctor asked Mom what she planned to name me. Then, the Indian doctor commented, "Oh great, then she can be friends with my daughter, Sri Saraswathy!"

2. I'm daddy's girl. I was born on my dad's birthday. My mom cleverly planned to have me on HER birthday, but I came 3 weeks early. Or maybe she miscalculated, I don't know. I just believe everything she tells me :D

3. I've already made an a** of myself admitting that I don't eat ketchup EVER, but I'm also a food snob, at least that's what my mom thinks. She used to say that I'm prejudiced (yeah, that's the word I've been looking for all week, and the prize goes to pinky!) when it comes to food that remotely resembles ketchup, sambals, curries and the likes (especially if they contain belacan and smelly stuff , e.g. sambal belacan, air asam, acar buah, kerabu, rojak, tempoyak, budu, etc). However, I guess it's just a childhood quirk, isn't it? I'm slowly beginning to tolerate such 'kampung' food (hehe) I used to eat sate without the peanut gravy. I'm now salivating over MIL's curries and sambal tumis. I even hated maggi kari, but now I have them on a regular basis :) I'm still a food snob to a certain degree, coz I still swore off sambal belacan & ketchup.

4. This too, I'm taking cue from Hetz. I *think* I can dance, because I've represented my school in a cultural dance before. At least I got head-body-hands-legs coordination lah. I've never done classical dance before, but I think I can learn. But I don't do pop dance, or booty dancing, or dangdut, nooo way *shakes head*.

5. And I *think* I can sing too lah, since I've been in the school choir for 5 years. Not the voice that could win me a scholarship either (hehe, kan Hetty?) Can lah, I surely can't hit the high C or anything, but I'm pretty sure I'm not tone deaf either. Average lah!

6. I used to be athletic during my school years, and I enjoyed sports, especially volleyball, which I played till varsity level. Used to be flexible too and could perform those splits, cartwheels and other forms of floor exercises, but when I hit puberty, self consciousness and body issues got the better of me and I ditch all ideas of gymnastics altogether.

7. I loved to play the piano and took lessons until I was 9-10. I begged my mom to let me quit because I hated doing theories and going for exams so much. The piano is still there at my mom's house and I learnt to play songs that I like on my own through simple musical sheets . I wish I could play the piano by ear like my friend here, but I can't, so I had to learn slowly. Sadly, I haven't touched the piano for years now, except while cleaning it :D I've hinted to Mom time and time again to let me have the piano, but Mom doesn't think anyone would help us move the darn heavy thing on to the lorry and transport it to my home.

8. It's easy for me to have a crush on someone, and I love the idea of having a crush much more than being in love. Yeah, that's me, always playing the lovelorn tragic tortured soul that I am. I've been to an all-girls boarding school and had a crush on a few people. That fizzled, and when I went for matriculation, I had a crush on a senior guy (he's happily married with 2 boys now, bohoohoo), had a crush with a volleyball buddy when I was in varsity, and while I was doing my practical at a famous publishing company, I had a BIG crush on a cute guy at the purchasing department. I used to love going to the bank because my heart went dubdab when I saw this dapper looking gentleman manning the counter, but the bank is now having this ridiculous queuing system that had customers complaining loudly, so I hardly go there anymore.

OK! I did all! All fakta and no auta :D Happy reading!

MEME: 5 POSTS LINK TO KEYWORDS

A week before raya, I was tagged by Babybooned with this meme. Sorry I took so long to respond! Now you guys know how much I love doing memes, I never find them as a chore, but as usual, my excuse is I don't have the luxury to respond immediately.

Since BB explained that the reason she tagged me was she didn't have the chance to read my ENTIRE blog, I'm choosing older entries of mine. I gotta thank her because for the same reason she enjoyed doing the meme, I had a great moment doing mine, taking time to read old old entries and making sure I'm still on the right track in this whole blogging business.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Post 5 links to 5 of your previously written posts. The posts have to relate to the 5 key words given below.

2. Tag 5 other friends to do this meme. Try to tag at least 2 new acquaintances (if not, your current blog buddies will do) so that you get to know them each a little bit better.

3. Don’t forget to read the archived post and leave comments

Link ONE must be about FAMILY: Mother's Day Post - an entry about my dearest mom (or her most distinctive trait :D)

Link TWO must be about FRIEND: Bouquet for Rajoo - about a friend who passed on. You prolly need some Kleenex for this

Link THREE must be about YOURSELF: About myself? MYSELF?? This is difficult. I talk sh*t about myself all the time, it's hard to pick just one. Maybe this Lost & Found Poem will be fine, since I was super psyched when I found it online.

Link FOUR must be about YOUR LOVE: My Love? This means my partner/hubby right? This is easy peasy. My Martian Wants a Bowling Glove wins hands down- which later got me ribbed by the merciless (and not to mention, itchy!) Mynn.

Link FIVE can be ANYTHING YOU LIKE: Kids Don't Come with Instruction Manuals

I'm tagging the 'usual suspects' lah - Zalin, Nadia and Moby. What about you Sasha? Norza? Hetz?

Somehow I have a feeling that it's ending here :D

FF #12: NICE LADY GETS NICE MATTERS AWARD!

Wohoo! My heartfelt thanks to Babybooned for the award!

The originator of the Nice Matters award states that it is meant for “those that are just nice people, good blog friends, and those that inspire good feelings and inspiration! Those that care about others, that are there to lend support, or those that are just a positive influence in our blogging world!”

You like, me. You really like me *wipes happy tears*

Thank you, thank you all who have made this possible for me. To my parents, whose naturally nice disposition is genetically passed down to me.

To my dear Tok, who always told me to be nice and kind to other people.

To my English teacher, who was constantly horrified with my compulsive use of suggestive words and terms in my essays, and had taught me to use the dictionary for nicer, more politically-correct words & euphemisms.

To my friends who know me in person, whom I'm sure have only nice things to say about me.

To my online friends, to whom I'm known as the 'nice lady' - I hope that I'm convincing enough.

And lastly to Nunu, nothing brings out the 'niceness' in you than a demanding tot, huh?

I promise I'll continue churning out more nice things to blog about. Ok, since I'm so nice, here are not 5 but 7 more recipients whom I feel worthy of the award too.

1. Alya Nabilah
2. Pinkyjumbo
3. DITH
4. Mamasarah
5. Marinadelrey
6. Chech Mak
7. Zalin

*courtsey nicely*

DOUBLE TAG

Ok, one of it is not actually a tag, but an award of some sort. So thank you Nadia for conferring me this award ... exactly a month ago! Huhuhu, I feel so unworthy. Is there a rockin' makcik blogger award being passed around?

Here's the 4-4-4-4 meme, also from Nadia.

Four jobs in my life:
1) doing clerical job and assisting my aunt doing menial accounting at my father's company after SPM, spent most of my days trolling on the net
2) practical training at the promotions department of a leading magazine publishing company. It's a real job to me because I took over an executive's responsibilities when she took 2 weeks leave to get married.
3) director and manager at my present company
4) full-time 'milkmaid' (and I've hung up my cheapo pumps with pride)

Four countries I’ve been on vacation:
1) Singapore (when I was about 4-5)
2) Danau Toba, Medan ( around 12, after UPSR)
3) Osaka, Japan (for a cultural exchange program, we get to dance for the carnival, jalan2 & get paid for it)
4) Makkah & Madinah (for umrah & ziarah - considered vacation also, what?)

Four of my favourite food:
1) chicken satay Haji Samuri, with the kick-ass peanut sauce
2) chicken rice, without the chili sauce
3) french fries, without ketchup
4) ramli burger, without ketchup

Four places I’d rather be now:
1) Inside Wentworth Miller's changing room
2) On top of John Legend's piano
3) In James Morrison's music videos
4) In space with Dr Astronaut

Four friends to tag:
1) dyanna
2) deathberry
3) vikram's mummy
4) sunan_jati

MEME: FAVOURITE FOOD

Was tagged by Babybooner & it's a 'delicious' meme too! Finally I got tagged for a food related meme, but can it cure my blogstipation or not? Who knows. I for the love of God, don't know it myself.

1) Proposition: What is your favorite food in your state or country?

2) Requirements: Find some info about the food and show delicious pictures of it?

3) Quantity: FIVE PEOPLE.

4) Tag Mode: You leave their blog and post link and add to the list below.

I'm a Penangite, so it's logical if I talk about the food that Penang is famous for, right? I mean, people from as far as Singapore come in droves to Penang (yeah, and clog up our Penang bridge!) to sample the authentic penang laksa, nasi kandar, pasembor, char keow teau & other chinese delicacies lined up along the Jalan Kota Lama and Baru that I cannot spell.

Alas, I don't favour them much.

What makes me weak in the knees is this....

The magnificent Ramly Burger, without chili sauce of course.
Why? Err... refer yang pelik tetapi benar 1

I remember one particular incident relating to Ramly Burger. Something sad happened to me a couple of years back when I was in uni. It was convocation season, and all hostel cafes were closed down for a week to give way to the plethora of food stalls set up at the convo ground/field.

One night, walking back to the hostel from a study session at the library, whether I like it or not, I gotta get my dinner from the food stalls (which had the reputation to be utterly overpriced & tasteless). So I thought of playing it safe and opted for a burger. I mean, you can't go wrong with a Ramly burger, really. In my entire life, I've never tasted a bad one.

So I kept my patience is check although the burger stall was swarmed with customers. When my turn finally came, I remember clearly instructing the burgerman to skip the ketchup. I waited for the longest time for my burger, and from time to time, repeating the same instruction. NO KETCHUP.

At long last, he handed me my order & I asked him again, "Betul takde sos (ketchup) ni eh, bang?" He nodded, "Ye, ye".

So I made the long walk back to the hostel with my tummy growling mercilessly, looking forward to devouring my dinner. At the comfort of my room, I unfolded the wrappers, ready to pounce on it's moist flesh & be transported on a gastronomical heaven.

To my dismay, (by this time, you could have guessed what the story is all about) I saw the whole burger was covered by ICKY RED YUCKY RUNNY KETCHUP!!!

Bl*rdy f***! I cried my heart then & there. I was so emotional & frustrated at the unfairness of it all. I sobbed & screamed all my might (I think the boys at the hostel opposite could hear my banshee cry) because I didn't have the energy and guts to walk all the way back to the stall & demand a new one (or sekeh that burgerman's kepala cukup2!)

After the demonstrative outburst, I marched down to my a friend's room & gave that burger to her. I asked whether she had some maggi mee because I was so damn hungry, but she didn't have any, so I sucked up my pride and went begging to buy a packet from anyone who had any, door to door.

Crazily enough, that incident never made me hate Ramly. It just made me into a more persistent customer, pressing & reminding the burger man countless times, NO KETCHUP! And I always check before leaving.

Here's a better photo taken by from the old geezer formerly known as Moby (now prefers to go by the name Woggle), snitched from here. I remember he wrote a helluva funny & terribly obscene tribute to his beloved Ramly. Yeah, you can expect him romancing with his food even ;p

I dare to say that there isn't a burger loving soul in this country who doesn't love their hawker-style Ramlys, and if you're a true-blue fan, you have a favourite stall & even know it's operating schedule, and you and the 'abang burger' might even share a pretty chummy relationship.

It's not difficult at all searching for info about the much-loved burger. Here's what I got from wiki alone (cut & paste ah, yeah... my mental condition & inarticulacy it THAT bad! hurhur)

The first stall was founded by the Ramly family way back in 1979 (wah heyyy... the burger's history is as old as I am!) situated at the Lorong Haji Hussin in KL. The popularity of the burger caught on very fast throughout the country, and the business expanded into halal meat processing.

But we're talking about the special burger here...

The Ramly Burger is distinctive from most other hamburgers due to the unique way in which the ingredients are served. Rather than the usual method of stacking the ingredients within the bun, the patty in the Ramly Burger is first covered with the desired condiments, then wrapped in a thin layer of egg. The end result is packet-like and enhances the texture of the burger while simultaneously reducing mess from the condiments (beautifully described!).

Despite its popularity among Singaporeans, the import of Ramly Burger into Singapore is prohibited (a strange fact as frozen Ramly Burger patties are approved for sale there) , along with all other Malaysian beef products (eh apedah, anal sungguh!). However, several stalls have smuggled the burger, albeit illegally, into the country (hah! contraband stuff!). In particular, Ramly Burger stalls are rampant in pasar malams, which are harder to track due to their itinerant nature.

Some have expressed health concerns over the Ramly burger, due to the liberal amounts of condiments typically lathered on the burger (oh please! spare me the drone)

For the uninitiated, this is how a typical Ramly Burger is prepared, and this minah got it all covered! There is even a Ramly Burger Flickr group!

Okay, I think that does it. I'm tagging kroni2 semua : Zalin (you talk about some exotic arabic cuisine hokay), Nadia (you too! since you've been to the ceruk2 5 continents all), Moby/Woggle (I want you to get horny okay), Dybb (I know this is easy for you!) and lastly, Ann (Alesha's mommy), something foreign that I haven't heard of, can or not?

MEME FOR CHARITY

Tagged again by Ucue (this time link betul2 ah, no more jesus jesus! lol)

Idham started spreading around this meme for a noble cause. I've read some of the nearly 100 entries that responded to this meme (and some of them are good stuff!) but I'm not in the right frame of mind shelling out thought-provoking statement fillers, but I'm gonna have fun doing so by being honest. These are my no-brainers:

The meme is about completing at least seventeen out of the following twenty seven sentences........

1. A person is only as good as ... his/her true intentions.
2. Friendship is always ... breakable if you are insincere.
3. To love is to ... shed your ego.
4. Money makes me ... feel like I should save more.
5. I miss ... having 8 hours of a good night sleep.
6. My way of saying I care... is by picking up the phone and making that call (haha, business call tuntut hutang pun sama!)
7. I try to spread love and happiness ... by blogging on Fridays :D
8. Pick the flowers when ... nobody is looking (orang penang kata, line clear... ni kes makcik2 curi pokok bunga majlis perbandaran ni!)
9. To love someone is to ... set aside your differences and focus on the loooovin' :D
10. Beauty is ... in my daughter's eyes (honestly, someone answered '... not the beast'!)
11. When I was thirteen, what I remember ... having the time of my life in Expoland, Japan for a cultural exchange program.
12. When I was twenty one, I remember ... having a big crush on someone.
13. I am most happy when... the laundry is washed, hung, folded and put away, out if my sight.
14. Nothing makes me happier than ... seeing people actually EAT my cooking.
15. If I can change one thing, I will change ... my inclination to be temperamental.
16. If smiles were money , then I would be a pauper???
17. Wouldn't it be nice if we could ... stop being pretentious?
18. If you want to have things done your way, then you have to do it on your own! D-oh!
19. Money is not everything but it sure is something if it can buy me things that makes me happy!
20. The most touching moments I have experienced is .... when Martian (then my bf) unable to reach me on my mobile, showed his gallantry by searching for me all over the campus (on foot) while I was lying in the sickbay for period cramps.
21. I smile when... I see Nunu & her abah plays tickle-tickle.
22. When I am happy, I ... would share that happiness.
23. If only I don't have to work, then I'd be a tai-tai.
24. The best thing I did yesterday was ... flirting with a government officer over the phone so that I can get my blardy payment that I've been waiting for for 4 blardy months.... On second thought, that's the 2nd best thing. The best thing I did yesterday was teaching nunu the word 'macaroni' :D
25. If I ever write a [cooking] book, I will give it this title,"The Great Kitchen Wreck: A Clueless Mom's Survival Guide"
26. One thing I must do before I die is ... mengucap.
27. Doing this meme, I feel extraordinary, because I responded to this meme in less than 7 days! and oh yeah, also I feel like I'm participating in a noble cause to help those in need.

I hereby pass the baton to K-inky, Chech, Dyanna, DITH, Along and Babybooner.

The rule:
If you are tagged, you need to write an entry related to the meme. At the end of your entry you just need to tag as many person as you like. You will then leave a comment in their blog to let them know they have been tagged. And to include this message, "By doing this meme you are contributing rm127 to the Darul Izzah Orphanage". Then please copy and paste this rule somewhere in your entry.

There! I've done my bid. One question to Idham though, by having 100 bloggers completing this meme, you'll donate *taps taps calculator* RM 12,700 to the orphanage, right? Let's say you have more than 100 memes completed, would you still contribute RM 127 for each extra meme? What happens if the game spirals out of control and you have 500 memes? 1000 memes? I get heart palpitations just thinking of it.

Good luck, dude! *thumbs up sign*

FGF #10: BABY ME

Karma strikes again! Can't feel jolly good about myself, can't I, after pulling that stunt on my baby brother, coz I am tagged again by Ucue.

I think I have bored everyone with my baby pics on my birthday, but I can always show 2 more.

See, no hair at 8 months

Long wispy hair at 3 years

Therefore, I'm guessing Nunu's hair will only get longer when she reaches 3.

Zalin, Nadia? I know you guys wanna play? Who else eh? K-inky? K-Fad? K-Lamlee? Obi wan K-moby?

It's Friday today, and I'd like to do fun things on Fridays sometimes. Guess whose Bollywood celebs' baby pics are these.

clue: petite & raspy voiced

clue: miss world & menantu of the most influential man in India

clue: child star & hot shot director

clue: err... the eyes and the nose speak for themselves!

Speaking of babies, is it the baby popping season or what? Julia Roberts and Keri Russel just had babies, Jenna Elfman and Naomi Watts are expecting theirs next month and suddenly I see everyone's flaunting their babies or their baby bumps. I'm pretty sure some baby birth registry are pretty busy right now. Makes you wanna dump all those birth control pills and get on with the bonking, rite? I heard some horror stories about what those pills can do to you, although you'd get simply comforting answers to the medical questions that you ask from your doc or gynae. Ah well, you can get plenty of second opinions and info just by applying that degree in google most of us have!

SOME NICE PICS FOR A CHANGE

Soooooo.... I have unintentionally grossed out my innocent readers with the previous WW (who would have thought the pic would evoke such horrified reactions?) here's something sweet to undo all those unnecessary repulsion.

Thanks Ucue the Purpleheart for tagging me!

My favourite flower, lily. White, pure, ethereal, graceful, majestic.

I think I am developing a habit of posting a 'wordless wednesday' photo & still have a lot of things to say about it by blogging about it in the next entry.

Actually, there's a grosser story about lizards. This is a true story, although you might have seen a scene like it in 'Cicakman'.

Now, this is a true story, tau. Long long time ago, Martian drank a mug of Milo in which an unfortunate cicak has fallen into.

The poor fellows (Martian & the cicak), tergedik-gedik & tersembur-sembur.

That's the reason why Martian never drinks the Milo I made for him if he sees that it's been exposed or uncovered. Lizards ( and colonies of other species of creepy-crawlies I am unable to identify) are everywhere in our home.

Which explains the sudden interest over cicak trapping, which has turned into an obsession for him (as well as mr hana a couple of years ago). We haven't caught any after the last dua ekoq, and before this tiga ekoq (you guys are lucky I never snap a pic of this, all three of 'em cuddled in the deathly trap!).

Probably, the others got the message.

ANNE LOVES MANDY

I notice that almost everyone is moving in slow gear these past few weeks. I'm not spared from this affliction too, mostly due to being holed up at work, I can't think straight from this cluttered mind of mine.

So here's another self-indulgent post about how much I love Mandy Moore. Inspired by pinky's post about her penchant for sappy love stories.

I used to HATE her when she first came out with "Candy", and LOVED Britney instead with her "Hit Me Baby" video. I accused her of being the slutty wannabe who couldn't carry a tune (when in actuality, I envy her blond locks, stick thin figure & perfect skin)

But as time went by, she earned my respect by belting out acceptable tunes like the song above, ditched that annoying bubble-gum image & played a range of characters rather convincingly in her movies. I began to carry a torch for Mandy, particularly because I think she has a good head on those shoulders & a different persona from all the other former pop-princesses of the early 2000s (erm, maybe her wholesome image is more believable than Britney's)

I see that she carries herself well too, especially in interviews and some shows I saw she hosted. She seems real & doesn't have those superstar air about her.

This can be considered as a personal meme, a pointless rambling. But, I'm doing this for fun. So, who's your favourite pop princess? Sapa rajin, sila jawab :)

PELIK TETAPI BENAR - ROUND 2

Kena sep lagi ngan Ucue a.k.a Purpleheart

If it's karma, why am I hit twice? I only tag people once, but I kena tag twice liao! Sungguh tak adil! Then no one wants to be tagged summore, die die threat me not to tag them. Why?? Why you all like to read memes but dowan to be tagged, hah?

Very well, as if the previous 6 weird things about me are not enough, here are six more 'not really weird things but more like peculiar behavior that is totally acceptable'.

1. I relish being tagged. t means that someone cares enough about me :D And I absolutely enjoy doing it because it allows me to spend 3-4 days pondering about myself, not just the weird things.

2. I am a bird-brain. My head is full of fluffy cottony clouds most of the time. I am totally incapable of having a serious discussion or a strong opinion (pinkyj, next time just ask me about tv programmes, yah, not what I think of the oil price in Malaysia!)

3. I am a careless, reckless klutzy klown. I have lost 2 handphones, and I spend at least 5 minutes looking for my keys. As if you still don't know, I am a big gundu too. Last night, I cursed that the night was unusually dark, before I realized I didn't turn on the car's headlights. By the way, does anyone know how to get rid of black ink stains on a white shirt? (Shhhhh... washing machine accident!)

4. I have a mild case of spoonerism or the 'slip of the tongue' disease. Mild, but no less funny & embarrassing. Imagine telling someone to "Save drively" or referring to Miss Jolie's beau as "Brid Patt".

5. I never buy packed drinks in small 250ml packs. I only buy I liter packs. Then I drink straight from the pack with a straw :) A trainee student (who weighs, I think 350lbs!) started this craze in the office a couple of years back, and now everyone in the office drinks this way

6. I have a crush on Marg Helgenberger! I know, I know, ewww weird, but doesn't she look delicious in this photo?

6. I like to snitch pretty pictures (anything I fancy, esp FEMALE celebrities - I never keep males ones!) and keep them in my computer. Watch out you guys. Sapa yg ada gambar swimsuit tu baik-baik noooo!

I owe Ucue another tag. Tomorrow lah OK!

MEME: YANG PELIK TETAPI BENAR

It's karma, baby.

Finally I've been tagged by Mama Sarah and the meme is "6 weird things about me". Nunu has done this twice and I had to consult her on how to play this game (yeah she just learnt this game off pat, LOL). Like they say, what goes around, comes around. So if you wanna know how quirky I am, read on.

1. Yang pelik #1 - I don't eat ketchup. EVER. Tomato or chili. Anything red. In a packet or in a bottle. They just put me off. I cringe if it's on my plate, a blob of red on my eggs or drizzled on top of my nasi goreng pattaya. Another poor soul's meal (usually the makan companion lah) will have to be swapped with mine. I remember being ribbed by my family & friends to the point of tears for this reason. So how do I eat my fries, you ask? I dunk them in my sundae. I tell you, hothot fries, then coldcold ice-cream... hmmm syiok!

2. Yang pelik #2 - The people who know that I have an 'allergic' reaction to ketchup, are perplexed at my high threshold for spicy food though. I have no problems with sambals (except sambal belacan - I take my ulams without it).

3. Yang pelik #3 - Green means "Go", but red traffic lights, to me, means that it's the appropriate time to apply lipstick, hand lotion and clip my nails (or Nunu's). Eh, then 90 seconds you just wanna let pass just like that? I even used to take pics of Nunu at traffic stops, hehe

4. Yang pelik #4 - I cannot wear strappy sandals or kitty heels or whatever those girly shoes are called. I have only a pair of bulky manly shoes and a very weather beaten Scholl sandals that I bought to accommodate my puffy feet during pregnancy (which I wear only to 'siram my pokok bunga' - very the mak datin you!). Reason being I have the ugliest pair of feet. Dry skin due to chronic eczema and hereditary bunions - not a pretty sight. And I wear socks all the time.

5. Yang pelik #5 - I have zilch grammar knowledge. For example, I can't even explain to my niece the difference between 'of' and 'off' grammatically. My teachers used to think that it's weird that I make mistakes for grammar quizzes, but I usually get the highest marks for essays & compositions, with minimal grammar mistakes. Nowadays, I just don't care about perfect grammar (and spelling) anymore. Well, that explains a lot, eih?

6. Yang pelik #6 - The first thing I'll do when I get home is to turn on the TV. Yup, I just can't stand total silence. I must hear the TV (not the radio, not the ipod or opid or whatever) blaring even as a background sound, when I'm in the shower, in the kitchen or eating at the dining table. If I can help it, I'd sleep with the TV switched on too ( I do that on most nights, sleep in front of the TV while waiting for Martian to come home from bowling practice) It's a habit stemmed since childhood, as Tok told me that I'd wake up & scream if someone switches off the TV during my naps.

There. That wasn't so hard, was it? I just had to get it on the roll. I was stumped for days to do this meme, as I can't think of my quirks as quickly as I thought of Nunu's, but I'm just as weird as my daughter after all, LOL.

I'd love the tag other people, but I feel that it's madness since I've tagged so many people with the same meme, though I'm soooo tempted to pass the baton to you, Mynn. Maybe I should start my own meme like "5 things that my spouse find I'm hot" or "my 5 favourite movies/songs" or "ten things I'd like to do before I die" or ... you get my drift.

For now, the madness ends here.

TAGGED: 5 FAVOURITE MALAYSIAN BLOGGER

Amacam? Letih main kejar-kejar? Sampai ada orang merajuk kena tag.

Oooo, you kata I takder life, ye? Nak kena si Moby ni. Siapa yang nak kena curse ni?

OK lah, I took me a few days to think this over. Sampai tidor pun termimpi2. My top 5 are:

1. the one who tagged mr. moby in the 1st place: 5xmom - pronounced five-x-mom a.k.a chanlillian. This is where I go to get my daily fix of humour, life, lies(LOL) and sex (eh no more sex leh). Full time blogger and probably the tai-tai of new millenium. Has at least 10 blogs/sites under her belt. Funny, brutally honest and gregarious. Hates pricey crocs as much as I do. You don't wanna mess with her as she's able to hold you by the balls and twist it into prunes if you dare. This guy kena fried liao. But she does have a softer side. You just gotta love her.

2. mat jan - seriously witty & intellectually hilarious. Probably the most gifted if not popular Malay blogger in Malaysia. Pak lawak zaman siber. Serius lawak, tak tipu. Lagi lawak drp senario. Sedih pun boleh lawak. Kena baca sendiri baru puas hati. He's MIA at the moment and the blog has been on a long hiatus. The Malay blogsphere misses him like crazy. I *think* he's a lawyer now or maybe dah kena ISA *joke!choichoichoi!*

3. thedatindiaries - nowww, the blog that sparked a controversy & dichotomy and probably, a spin-off on TV3. Is she for real, or is she fake? Loath her or love her, I don't care. She's a friggin' genius.

4. najahnasseri - Intelligent & articulate. An ex-yuppie who is now a SAHM residing in Singapore. My SSP senior. I'm not ashamed anymore to say that I was her silent SA *guess*

5. mamasarah & mynn - Last but certainly not the least, it's the lovely Malaysian family residing in Coventry. Lots of pictures of lovely places, lovely people & lovely food. Simply lovely. (I know , I cheat. Now dah jadi 6. But they're a duo & their blogs come in a package: )

Moby! You better give a damn about this. I'm ending the insanity right here.

p/s: can't wait for 'Heroes' tonight!!! Excited liao!

BABY TAG

If our pop princess had an important announcement yesterday, well so do I.

I shall not keep it to myself anymore. This is the big expose. Let her speak for herself from now on.
