Smile, though your heart is aching
Smile, even though it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky
You'll get by...
If you smile
With your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just...
Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just... smile
Alright alright, I know how many of you guys are tempted to whip out your parasols, payungs, umbrellas, sunbrellas or whatever ellas are in season now if you hear me singing this song.
When I'm down in the dumps (which happens quite frequently - don't ask why, it's just the way I am!) this last line of a song from an anime always appear in my mind. We watched the series all the time when we were kids, but I never bothered to keep in mind the anime title though until this afternoon, I felt like asking my brother about it.
You see, he's the type of under appreciated-genius who remembers EVERTHING that he sees (on TV) or reads - little bits of useless info that he remarkably has space for in his brain, for example the name of The Mask's dog, or the blonde pig-tailed muppet character in Sesame Street, or where Roald Dahl came from, or the year of the Challanger tragedy. OK, you get the picture.
So he sms me back with the title of that 80's anime - MOSPOEDA! Hahaha... he said he can't believe he still remembers the title.
OK, so when I originally wanted to write about my angsty teenhood and how i used to drive myself sick with the above 'Smile' as a pick-me-up, and what a depressed cookie I still am now, it turned out to be a funny & amusing entry for me.
MOSPOEDA.... hmmm, this will be my feel-good pill for at least a couple of days :) :) :)
Hmm, maybe I should just chill out under the sunshine once the rain goes away, and maybe go get one of those patio umbrella stands . What say you?

Thanks bro for pointing out the spelling mistake (yours, not mine!). No wonder I couldn't get anything from the net.
So it was actually MOSPEADA and below is the blue-haired character that I was talking about. Lance has purple hair to be exact (so my memory served me wrong! haha kena tambah RAM la ini macam) and the alter-ego's name is Yellow Dancer.

Hah! Now I remember why he's the only character that hasn't been completely erased from my memory. It was weird to me at that time that his name is Yellow but had purple hair. Didn't make sense to me then as much as it does now :)
And maybe he was memorable because I thought he was a Jem wannabe (oh oh I'm sensing there's gonna be a whole entry about this!) because I was such a total Jem freak.
Obviously I wasn't a big fan of this anime. It was just something I had to watch with my brothers, and I probably tuned out during the fight scenes or read my book in front of the TV to actually focus on the plot. I probably just watch it for Yellow because he's the only hot and fascinating character ;p
But there is a valid reason for his cross-dressing ways. He was a soldier pilot hiding from the evil alien Invids so he disguises himself as a woman. Later on, he used the persona to become popular singer and as an undercover to infiltrate the Invids.
And dear ten-year-old me thought that he was gay! Haha, purple is a tad gay colour, right Moby? No offense, Ucue. Purple is a great colour on you!
Other than forcing my memory to do some jogging, this entry serves so significant purpose so I believe probably nobody understands my sudden interest in Lance. OK, so to end this pointless entry, I'm sharing this piece of gem ( which I 'pilfered' from here) with everyone :)

From left to right: Yellow Dancer from Robotech (aka Yellow Belmontof Genesis Climber Mospeada), Ginga Torikai of Chouja Reideen, Changeling,Kagetsuya from Earthian, and Teeye of The Weathering Continent.
