THE POTTY REPORT

Gosh... so many great news to blog about, so little time (and very little brain capacity!)

Right, many are wondering how we're coping with the potty operation, and I'm glad to report that so far, there's no major drama pertaining to the delicate issue! How's that?! Momma was able to keep her head cool during highly stressful situation, but I gotta give Nunu some stars for being very cooperative and somewhat enthusiastic about it. We both agreed to scrap the teeny weeny pink potty for good (still collecting dust!) and just give it a go straight to the big people's toilet.

It's been a little over a week since Day One but I gave up keeping journal of she did what business at what particular time on Day Two. The hasn't been any oppsie when she wanted to pee pee and we did quite a great job keeping the floor dry. The only thing that annoyed me a bit is that she needed to pee every 15-20 minutes, and most of the case after we've climbed up the toilet she shook her head and annouced with a cute pout "Takde....!" Every time that happens I can almost see grey clouds of temper gathering above my head, but somehow God gave me the strength not to lose it.

Things aren't that great in the poo poo department. She maybe able to have some form of control over her bladder but not her bowels yet. She pooed in her panties countless times and she did it in such perfect timing every time, I mean, EVERY TIME. Usually when were all set in to go out somewhere in our nice clothes and the car's engine was already running, suddenly I smelt it. I wasn't proud of what I did. I berated on and on while washing her for not telling me she had poo in her panties and had to find out myself. That happened a few times until I just come to terms about it and just let her be.

The worst experience so far was a bit funny actually. It was quite late at night, and she already pooed before that. We were minding our own business, she was writing/reading/bouncing around and I was reading/watching TV/falling asleep on the couch. All of the sudden I saw tiny round brown stuff on the white floor and almost shouted out loud "SH*T!" She wasn't wearing panties under her pajamas coz I was planning to put on her diapers later for bed, so I guess that was when she was most comfortable to erm, do business and those perfect little pellets just rolled under the legs of her pants.

Seeing what she did, Nunu's eyes went wide and she looked somewhat sheepish, there wasn't anything I could do than just silently wash everything up so that she won't feel discouraged or embarrassed.

Haha, I know this happened to Maverix once (right, babe?) and her hubby gotta use sunglasses while picking up Mikhail's little ammos on the floor! Thank goodness Nunu's little ammos looked like goat droppings and I didn't have to go to that extent and wear sunglasses to clean up the mess. It wasn't THAT traumatic, okay!

( I don't know how many moms would agree with me, but don't you find, at least for the first few times, that those pellets looked almost too cute? Hahaha, or issit only me?)

Last night, for the first time, she said she wanted to pee, instead I heard a tiny "plop!" in the toilet bowl! Immediately I praised her and announced to everyone present (there were several house guests at home last night) that Nunu finally pooped properly in the toilet. What joy! What pride!

To wrap up the story, I think she's doing a great job so far. She's diaperless during our rides in the car or when I bring her along for errands and meals outside. I just went kamikaze with it and trusted her to hold her bladder until we've found a public toilet. She agrees to wear diapers for bed and usually when she feels like peeing, we'd have to run downstairs to the toilet anyway coz she doesn't want to consciously pee in her diapers.

I hope this post won't jinx anything so let's keep our fingers crossed that she'd go totally diaperless soon! As cute as those brown poo looked, I sure don't look forward to cleaning and sterilizing the floor again.

sasha, so far so good!

pinkytoe, good for alesha! i've heard how some kids are still not comfortable to poo w/o their diapers on, but better than a kid who keeps pooing in her panties and only tells me when she's all done! what can a mother do, buy more pretty panties lor!
