... coz it's eating me up whole.
I've lost my voice, or in this case, my will and inspiration to write again. I don't know if it's plain laziness or sheer hopelessness. No longer do I care to part of a 'community' or blog socializing as I call it. I'd rather lurk around my Google Reader and just keep up with everyone else by being a silent reader.
Enough about my whine story, let's move on to happier stories. Last weekend, I finally gathered my will (and guts) to set my foot into the largest room in the house, the most neglected one too I must admit. The room upstairs next to our bedroom is supposed to be our library cum work room cum TV room, but it serves most purpose in dust collecting. We put up our mismatched sofa seats in there, a TV and DVD player, a several racks of books and files and a workstation., everything is covered in sheets to keep out the dust. There were also several boxes of just 'stuff' that I gave up trying to sort out and put away, most are Martian's stuff.
There used to be a large work table, but we moved it into the bedroom (YES, the bedroom!) because Martian wants to do his late night marking in our air conditioned bedroom. The room has a powerful fan positioned right above the spot where the table used to be (or is it the way round?) but some nights, the room gets too warm for comfort.
It was a warm sunny day last Sunday afternoon, and I suddenly felt like going upstairs coz I felt that the breeze was quite strong. It would be perfect to spend our day, a break from our usual TV watching.
I had to vacuum the carpets 3 rounds before I let Nunu golek-golek with her botol. The room is fully carpeted, but in almost 4 years I've stayed in the house, I think I've only vacuumed the room 6-7 times. I opened all the windows and the verandah and let the cool wind blow into the room.
Now, the verandah. The verandah hasn't been swept in years. I doubt the house cleaners we hired every time before raya even got to out verandah, we told them to concentrate on the visible areas in our house since we've never ventured to our verandah. What a stark difference it is now compared to when I was younger, the verandah was our favorite hang out.
Just look at her filthy pants! Berkerak-kerak agaknya habuk kat situ.
So basically that was our Sunday afternoon, and a legthy description our abandoned room. Right now I'm thinking of more ideas to make the room a more fun place to be. But not without more rounds with the vacuuming and some mopping on the verandah. Or should we just call the house-cleaning fairies for this task?
