When I was growing up in a household of two hardcore gaming younger brothers, probably people would think that I would have developed a fairly decent aptitude for video or computer games by now. But I didn't, coz they never let me, those little twerps! And I remember quite clearly that their favourite games were always space games. Of course, what's more exciting than battling aliens and blasting asteroids huh?
And I still remember how even my thrifty parents gave in to my brothers' demands and got them all those gamewatches (that's what I think they're called back then) gameboys, etc. Those were the days before we discovered the joys of computer games and the revolutionary nintendos and PSPs. But if I were to tell my parents that we even have free online space games these days, they'd be terrible annoyed at how much they could have saved if we had this back then.
I tried a couple of the spaceship games available, and to tell the truth, they're not bad at all! Of course I picked the easy peasy ones, but hey, spending 10-20 minutes on a game can actually increase productivity, you know. Just look at how promptly I come up with this post!
My personal favourite is Alien Abduction where we get to be the 'alien' instead of boring space rangers saving the earth. And all this alien needs to do is abduct stuff- cows, sheeps, a man fishing in a lake, a couple kissing during a rendezvous, while evading an irate farmer trying to shoot the spaceship down. It's great fun! I was in stitches when the the spaceship came upon a desert and there's an empty cadillac on the road, then out of the blue, Elvis was beamed down on the car and he happily drove off straight to Vegas! I'm not gonna reveal what happened to the alien in the end (can you take a guess?) so you guys gotta have to try out some of these games yourselves. They can be addictive, so be warned :)
