... of BPA-free bottles awareness.
I admit, I knew about the dangers of normal plastic baby bottles some time back, but somehow grew indifferent towards the issue since it was quite difficult to get the BPA free ones back then - and my, were they PRICEY. Furthermore, at that time, Nunu wasn't that keen on feeding bottles and prefered cups, but I don't know what happened, slowly she got used to bottles, I guess - and I conveniently forgot about it.
So what made me into panic-mode now? Martian lah, he got to know about these harmful bottles that I've been using for Nunu and those generic water bottles we have around the house, so he told me to get those 'safe' ones, at all cost.
Here, I went a frenzy to find the cheapest 'safe' water containers possible (I fell into the misconception that only bottles marked with the number '5' underneath them are safe - stupid chain e-mail) and went on a search for the cheapest BPA free bottles available.
So, that's the story. The BPA issue is kinda stale actually, but I know there are a lot of people out there who are still uninformed of the matter. So this is me highlighting something pretty important for my loyal reader (that's you Zalin, haha)
For more details, get on googling, and here's a useful link.
p/s: Those bottles were purchased from Lil Caliph. I give the store a plus for accepting payment from my measly paypal account. LOL. Thanks a bunch Molina.

alamak. boring lah camni. i've been doing the "buat blur" act coz gib drinks frm sippy cups, not bottles. but i should check the sippy cups, kan. plus i still use soda bottles for plain water. hmmff. kering lah poket bulan ni nak gi beli botol botol.
Anne, if i'm not mistaken, MAM is also in the pricey range. You should check out Nuby or Evenflo. Nuby (wideneck) selalunya available in Toys 'R' Us/Jusco/Parkson and Evenflo in Jusco. Around RM18 per bottle. Not sure if they're available in Penang though.
beb, you're right! pricey!!!
dahlah pricey, takde fun cute prints on the bottle..boring looking, mcm hawra's avents bottles gak.
maybe they should, erm, improvise on the looks as well, cos my hawra is one fussy girl. asyik pilih botol ada cartoon jek!
p/s : if i didn't know u, sampai mati i tak tau what on earth is BPA-free bottles. maklumlah...lemmms sikit! hehe
I didn't know about this! And we too have those cutesy cheapo water bottles around - I must read up more about this and look for some "approved" bottles.
Thanks for the info :)
mintak mommy nyer lukis2 cartoon sikit atas botol MAM tu. even better, tampal sticker2 comel.
(oh, this aunty mye giving weird ideas, nunu! :P)
i admit, i do use all bpa free for my son. sippy cups from nuby and bottles from MAM, before this BFree. im a control freak lol
bb, yalah sippy cups pun kena tengok gaya jugak. by right, all our plastic utensils in the kitchen should be of safe plastic ware. Recyclable mineral bottles are a definite no-no. Double check those soda bottles la babe.
nik, MAM was my choice due to several factors, but mainly coz Molina accepts paypal. I'm sure there are cheaper options out there. Sapa yg ada masa should really check out nik's suggestions.
lin, one of the reason i never bothered in the 1st place was Nunu was really fussy about her bottles and teats back then. Now dah besar, senang sikit la.
Bav, i'm glad you found my post beneficial for you!
mama shmontel, great idea indeed! you ni, mmg creative :)
sarah, good for you! hmmm kena kempen lebih sikit ni nampaknya. Not all mummies are aware of this thing, but at the end of the day, it's their personal choice jugak
ahem!
speaking of cheap bpa-free bottles, i came across a few brands.
the cheapest i could find was from pureen. 2 bottles for less than rm15!
dengan pantas i menyambarnya dan berlari ke kaunter pembayaran dengan penuh semangat...hahaha
