Thanks Kiddo's Mom from the Modds who tagged me with this meme (well, in case you don't know, I LOVE doing memes, so everyone out there who's reading this, TAG ME! TAG ME!)
I'll try to make this meme as different as the other two memes (pelik tetapi benar) , but alas my brain has been hit by mental drought and I can't seem to find any facts about me that's worth blogging about. Hmm okay, make that - any NEW facts worth blogging about. You guys already know that I can be a little bit of a gundu, a little of a dingbat, a little bit melodramatic melancholic at the drop of a hat, a little bit unfortunate in the kitchen department, a little quirky, but you guys want FACTS, right? Not triteness. So here goes!
1. I'm taking this cue from Hetz, who talked about the origins of her name too. I won't reveal my real name here, but my mom nearly named me Sri Suzila Suziyanti. Thankfully, she agreed to go ahead with the name my dad chose when a fellow doctor asked Mom what she planned to name me. Then, the Indian doctor commented, "Oh great, then she can be friends with my daughter, Sri Saraswathy!"
2. I'm daddy's girl. I was born on my dad's birthday. My mom cleverly planned to have me on HER birthday, but I came 3 weeks early. Or maybe she miscalculated, I don't know. I just believe everything she tells me :D
3. I've already made an a** of myself admitting that I don't eat ketchup EVER, but I'm also a food snob, at least that's what my mom thinks. She used to say that I'm prejudiced (yeah, that's the word I've been looking for all week, and the prize goes to pinky!) when it comes to food that remotely resembles ketchup, sambals, curries and the likes (especially if they contain belacan and smelly stuff , e.g. sambal belacan, air asam, acar buah, kerabu, rojak, tempoyak, budu, etc). However, I guess it's just a childhood quirk, isn't it? I'm slowly beginning to tolerate such 'kampung' food (hehe) I used to eat sate without the peanut gravy. I'm now salivating over MIL's curries and sambal tumis. I even hated maggi kari, but now I have them on a regular basis :) I'm still a food snob to a certain degree, coz I still swore off sambal belacan & ketchup.
4. This too, I'm taking cue from Hetz. I *think* I can dance, because I've represented my school in a cultural dance before. At least I got head-body-hands-legs coordination lah. I've never done classical dance before, but I think I can learn. But I don't do pop dance, or booty dancing, or dangdut, nooo way *shakes head*.
5. And I *think* I can sing too lah, since I've been in the school choir for 5 years. Not the voice that could win me a scholarship either (hehe, kan Hetty?) Can lah, I surely can't hit the high C or anything, but I'm pretty sure I'm not tone deaf either. Average lah!
6. I used to be athletic during my school years, and I enjoyed sports, especially volleyball, which I played till varsity level. Used to be flexible too and could perform those splits, cartwheels and other forms of floor exercises, but when I hit puberty, self consciousness and body issues got the better of me and I ditch all ideas of gymnastics altogether.
7. I loved to play the piano and took lessons until I was 9-10. I begged my mom to let me quit because I hated doing theories and going for exams so much. The piano is still there at my mom's house and I learnt to play songs that I like on my own through simple musical sheets . I wish I could play the piano by ear like my friend here, but I can't, so I had to learn slowly. Sadly, I haven't touched the piano for years now, except while cleaning it :D I've hinted to Mom time and time again to let me have the piano, but Mom doesn't think anyone would help us move the darn heavy thing on to the lorry and transport it to my home.
8. It's easy for me to have a crush on someone, and I love the idea of having a crush much more than being in love. Yeah, that's me, always playing the lovelorn tragic tortured soul that I am. I've been to an all-girls boarding school and had a crush on a few people. That fizzled, and when I went for matriculation, I had a crush on a senior guy (he's happily married with 2 boys now, bohoohoo), had a crush with a volleyball buddy when I was in varsity, and while I was doing my practical at a famous publishing company, I had a BIG crush on a cute guy at the purchasing department. I used to love going to the bank because my heart went dubdab when I saw this dapper looking gentleman manning the counter, but the bank is now having this ridiculous queuing system that had customers complaining loudly, so I hardly go there anymore.
OK! I did all! All fakta and no auta :D Happy reading!
