I have been refraining myself from talking about tragedies & deaths on this blog. Moreover, it's a Friday, but when my right hand man, who asked for a day off yesterday to attend a funeral of his friend's sister, passed me a copy of the deceased death certificate just now, I had to swallow a big lump in my throat.
Tears stung me as I read the details of the young copilot and the COD. It reminded me of the death of a family member a couple of months ago, but what really hit home was she was a young person with a promising career, full of potential, and the family lives nearby my kampung. All right, maybe the media hype played it up a little bit about the tragedy to reduce me to this emotional state, but really, I'm praying that she didn't perish in vain & may she be among the martyrs.
The waiting game ends

Anne,
They should have grounded Nuri years ago! Can't understand the mentality of those up there! Sheesh..
I also can't refrain from having tears in my eyes whenever I read reports about the poor soldiers (may they rest in peace) in the newspapers.
Nuries has been used for like 30 years or so, it's already past their 'expiry date' and an outdated technology...
Like you, I get lumps in my throat when i'm faced with tragedies and deaths. I lost one of my best friends nearly two years ago and not a day goes by that I don't think about her (I think you know my arwah best friend's cousin... Arif, his baby Adam was featured in Nunu's blog). Al-Fatihah to the arwahs, and my heart just throbs in pain to think about the loved ones left behind.
dith, yes i agree. i heard someone said, nuri pun patut kena kapan sekali ngan jenazah2 tu
dyanna, how on earth do are they supposed to go 'berjuang' like that? and how long can they go compensating all the families with money & condolences alone?
bb, of coz i know Arif (Lynn the wife, to be exact ah) pening sikit nak think of the relationship u mentioned. You must be really devastated to lose your best friend. al-fatihah to her too
