POTATO LUCK

Geez, I can't believe my luck! And it's getting too freaky. Remember this little incident, well it happened to me again, almost exactly one year after! I remembered to renew the car's road tax and had it done just before midnight (thank goodness for the renewal reminder sent by the insurance company), but today I accidentally spilled some milk on the floor of the other car! Warrgh, I cleaned up the mess just now to erase all evidence of taint, or Martian's gonna flip! I don't know, February just isn't a good month for me.

Hmm, since I'm ranting, I'd better write about what happened on Monday as well. I was running late to pick up Nunu at her school, but I had to drop by the store to get some groceries. I rushed into Tesco with my heels on, and I hate wearing heels during shopping coz I have to walk on something that gives me traction. I grabbed a trolley and dragged it behind me coz it felt so heavy, which I initially blamed on my 2-inch shoes. I was halfway inside the store until I realized what I had grabbed. It was the humongous trolley that those small traders use to buy stuff in bulk! Grrr... to late to turn back and change trolley, although I only needed a packet of milk, some chicken and veges.

Worse still, it was kinda heavy for me that I had trouble pushing it in front of me as well as pulling it behind me, and I lost control of the trolley that I accidentally knocked over some ketchup bottles and some of them were broken with ketchup all over the floor! Grrr... I was close to yelling at myself, but I grit my teeth and found a nice Nepali cleaner who mopped the mess without fuss. Phew.

My misadventures didn't involve just plain klutziness and bad timing. Last night, I joined a workshop by Smart Money to improve my knowledge about financial independence. It's actually an educational board game that's a lot like Cashflow created by R. Kiyosaki. I had absolute fun here and it really opened up my eyes about how financially illiterate I am (well, I knew it all along, I just never knew I'm THAT bad). However, I keep getting BAD cards BAD numbers with the dice. I was so frustrated coz I was losing badly in the rat race and complained that I have such 'kentang' luck, as introduced by my Singaporean blogger friends. And the participants asked me, "what issit about potatoes?"

I answered, "Well, duh, potato head?" while pointing to my own 'dongga' head. Teheehee...

I think I jinxed the whole table too coz in the end, everyone calculated their net worth and we all got negative networth. Haha.

Even for this guy, who was grinning happily with all his assets worth millions, he still had negative net worth after deducting his larger liabilities.

Ugh, need to think happy thoughts to end this run of bad lucks.
