SOMETHING SMELLS FISHY HERE...

Two Saturdays ago (gosh, always start with a very basi newsline, don't you?), I was literally itching to go to a fish spa or known to many as 'doctor fish'. At that time, the condition of my feet has improved; no more inflammation and the skin tissues are properly healed, but of course the dryness and scaling were still a problem if I forget to moisturize so what I really needed was to find a new way to exfoliate those dead skin cells away.

My father showed me his smooth feet a few weeks before and we were all impressed! Can you imagine silky heels on a 56 year old man? Probably not, but he used to have pretty rough and calloused feet, and it was done in just one session! Now, who wouldn't be tempted to try?

The nearest fish spa I know was at Tesco Seberang Jaya (the one that my father tried), just a few minute's drive from my parents' home. And priced at RM12 for a 20 minute session, I thought it was a pretty darn good deal. The spa even gave you a little card for you so you get a stamp for each session you come for, and when you collect a few stamps, you get a free session. What a steal!

As soon as I dipped my feet in the pool, the little fishes came charging rrrrright at me and I had to cover my mouth to stifle my surprised yelp. Boy, were they hungry! Lots of food there for you wigglies. I had a hard time stopping myself from shaking those suckers away coz they're really so ticklish. Most of the time, I distract my mind from focusing on how those fishes are gnawing at my flaky skin (you can feel it at times when they just rrrrrrip 'em off your skin to get that big chunk of dead skin... I got really thin skin) by calling out to Nunu who was making laps around the shop area. Still, I couldn't help giggling and making faces all the time, and I think I attracted a little attention coz people with their shopping carts started stopping by the spa and stared and looked around and picking up the fliers. Some came in and started to chat with me about what it felt like.

"Geli giler!" I told the makciks honestly!

After 20 minutes, I washed my feet and couldn't appreciate my smoother skin coz I had to run after Nunu who dashed out of the shop after seeing some balloons and games at a nearby Astro booth. But I did had time to ask one of the spa staff about my skin condition, and she advised that I need to undergo a few sessions before I see some results.

We're happy, and the little fishies too!

bb, some of the bigger fishes are really 'brutal' compared to the smaller, more demure fishies yg makan dengan sopan. but like i said, i have pretty thin skin due to the eczema, so i'm sure i'm a little more sensitive to the gnawing sensation. but sapa nak kaki cantik, must give it a try lah. kaki i mmg buruk

blueranger, thnks for the compliments (ppl must think i've been 'fishing' for it!) anyway, for those who are not 'hardcore' ticklish people (you know, the kind kena cucuk a bit oredy lompat 1 metre high!) it's a must try. at least, once in your lifetime. for 12 bux, it's mighty worth it
