Gosh, I've just spent 20 minutes listening to a recorded call sound clip forwarded by a friend in an email. All this while, we've heard people b*tching about the bad customer service from Astro, but do we ever think of what type of people they have to layan everyday?
I feel very bad for this guy, all he wanted to do was help the lady with the 'technical' problem (which was as simple as replacing the old smart card with the new one) but nooooo, that lady was on a roll for a launch attack. I can sense that he was trying his best not to retaliate, but can you tahan after being slapped with the 100th 'bl*rdy' word directed at you? If it was me yang kena, I think my head would've exploded and rolled off my neck!
The lady even called for back up and another lady spoke through the phone in a nicer manner, a whole lot nicer, but what he got was an earful about how bad his English was (it was fine lah! hers was worse and thickly accented!) and how he shouldn't be in customer service at all! It was ridiculous and exhausting! I was giggling and shaking my head at the same time at this insanity.
I don't know, but I have a new found respect for Customer Service, and I'd surely speak more nicely to these people, knowing the h*ll they have to face each day.
So, have anyone of you come across the clip? I'd be gladly to forward to interested parties, if you have 20 minutes spare time, that is.
And lady, if that poor guy gotta have to take an extra customer service course, then you gotta go to anger management class.

my goodness, i was kinda hoping that @ the end of the conversation it was a 'gotcha'/'kena kantoi' call from some radio station.
i think customer service class should teach their personels 'how to properly hang up the phone on bl**d* customer' like this one. 22 minutes was just wayyyy too long to be patient!

Oh my god!! Maybe that was me!! I called up Astro's Cust care and marah siap2 the guy for disabling my service when they hadn't even shipped me the new gold card!! Hehehehe...sian jugak mamat tu but he was the only one I could thrash my frustration at. Furthermore, he's paid to get scolded at...:D

mama shmontel, i was expecting it was a joke too, but i didn't think so. it was really bad hor.. but whatever you do, you can't hang up, you can't talk back and either way, you'll have to settle with the customer. i just wondered HOW the HELL he escaped from her

You..my hubby was CS Astro. And believe me..he used to have very HIGH tolerancy level. even scolded me for scolding other ppl in CS line (waiter etc etc).Memang kesian ok. thats why la i jarang nak marah. But now, dah quit Astro cam singa pulak hubby ku itu. Apa citer?

heya pinkytoe! alamak, haha that's why i wanna share this story with my readers, coz i seriously think that we need to talk nicer to ppl lah, no matter if you're the customer or the cs, and especially suami isteri. huhu apa kes marah2 ni bang? lol
Hey there, I know you wrote this post a long time ago and I just heard it from a forward! OMGOMG I immediately searched something up to see if there are other crazies like this. makes me wanna get into customer service and put these kinda ppl in their place =p lol. you're so right.
