God, oh god, when will this gunduness and 'kentang'ness end?
My first run with bad luck started when a whole carton of Nunu's milk was spilled on my car's floor mat and carpet on Saturday evening, and I've forgotten all about it until there was an unmistakable stench coming from the interior of the car. It wasn't anyone's fault the milk spilled, apparently some kinda physics-action were at work when you leave an opened carton of milk with the straw in it in a car under the hot sun.
Sunday evening was spent washing and scrubbing the floor mats, spraying half a bottle of Febreez on the carpeting and rubbing milk spots off the leather seats, but the stink still won't go away. This happened once a long time ago, and I've tried spraying air fresheners (bad mistake), putting daun pandan inside the car (didn't work) and airing the car under the sun (the smell got worse!) I *think* the only trick that did it was to send the car off to the professionals to get rid of the smell, but that would cost me forty bux :((
To make matters worse, as I was cleaning the car, I noticed that my car's road tax has expired, TWO freaking weeks ago!!! Lord, I remember I went through countless roadblocks since that and confidently telling myself that it's not a problem. Haha, today I'm afraid chicken shit.
So back to the stinky problem, yesterday evening, I didn't park the car in the garage, but in front of the kitchen door instead (coz I was going back and forth in the house to get stuff and clean the car) and I left the windows open hoping that the smell would dissipate faster (but I did intend to park the car later that night in the garage).
Surely, luck was playing tricks on me coz around 9.30 pm it started to rain SUDDENLY and heavily pulak tu. As soon as I realized gundu me left the car exposed with the windows down , I dashed outside leaving Nunu alone in the house to get the car out of there and inside the garage (yeah yeah, irresponsible me, but I did tell her to stay put unless she wants frogs come jumping inside the house once she opens her mouth and cry)
Things were a little too late, the whole front seats were soaked and there were small puddles in the cracks here and there. Nunu was an absolute darling, however, she didn't cry, but I caught her hiding behind the kitchen door (which I left ajar so that she could see me get inside the car and park it elsewhere, but the grill door was closed) coz frogs indeed were trying to jump inside the house :)
I spent this morning cleaning up the mess in the car. Coz I left the windows down last night, tiny mozzies have found their way inside the car, and I had a hard time swatting them away before I left for work this morning. They left finally, but not before giving Nunu and me a few bites in the arms.
It didn't get any better when I called up the car's agent to settle the road tax and insurance. He asked me for the car's grant, which he said he has passed to my dad the last time he handled the road tax. I corrected him and said, no, you only passed to us the insurance and road tax, no grant. The bugger said he'll check with the bank again and will inform me later. It's already 3 pm now, and I'm still without the new road tax. I just called him, and he said the bank people are busy so he'll get back to me later :(
End of rant.
