She acted as if she understood my conversation with Martian the night before, that if we can't help it, we might have to let Nunu spend the night at the nanny's place. She protested and clung to me, so I made a promise that I won't leave her.
"Promise?" she asked for assurance and held out her last finger to made a pinky-pact with me.
Sorry Nunu, Momma didn't keep her part of the bargain. Due to the delayed flight from Langkawi to Penang, your Uncle Long and his family were stranded at the airport, so we couldn't fetch them on time as planned. Momma and Abah came home way past your bedtime last night. So we thought it was in your best interest that you had a sleepover at Mak Nab's.
But when I called Mak Nab to talk to you last night before you went to bed, and all you said was "Miss momma" before "OKtatabye!", I was speechless because I couldn't be sure whether you really understood the concept of missing someone.

Anyway, I finally took matters in my own hands on Xmas day and did something about Nunu's long fringe.
I meant to go for the china doll look, or the cleopatra do (cehh konon!), but in the end due to unskilled snip off (well, blame the fidgety tot as well!) what we get is the Yapin/Abu Bakar Ellah/Temeggung Jugah hairstyle.

Haha!! Made the same mistake with Maira's bangs last time too. I sprayed her hair wet first before trimming (konon nak buat cam nyonya kat salon tu la kan?) not realising that once dry, the hair tend to curl up a little bit. Sometimes, I just forget to think. Duh!!
But hey, a child as cute as Nunu has no problem carrying any hairstyle. It's the personality that counts! You go mama!!

hey, i cut my a'aliya's bangs as well, rimas tgk cucuk2 mata... made the same mistake with her brother 4 years earlier so i was easy on the scissors tapi still silap... ada ke pi gunting rambut basah, of course it would curl up.. duh.. tapi tak pe... we mothers still think our babies are the cutest of em all. true or not?
