It's both heart warming and 'belly cooling' when nowadays, Nunu gets worked up about bedtime. She keeps reminding me, as we walk up the stairs to turn in for the night, "Ma, laillahaillah ah". She looks forward to pushing that button of the CD player that plays only the zikir munajat in the bedroom. She even zikirs along to "Allah, Allah, Allah ya Allah" and "Ya latifu ya latif"
She's always loved the short surahs stored in my hp, but that was before she discovered that my hp can store copious amount of clips from Bob the Builder, Afi & Abah and the likes 2-3 months ago. Now, she's back to loving the short surahs, especially when we're in the car, with my hp in her ear, she finds comfort in her favourite two surahs which are Surah Al-Ikhlas (she'd ask for 'qulhuallah - in her own pelat way of course) and Surah Al-Kafirun (this one she calls 'bidubidu')
I was perplexed at first when she asked for 'bidubidu'. When I clicked on any other clip, she'd protest and cry. Benda alah apa 'bidubidu'? Haha lastlast I discovered, " Walaa antum 'aabidunna maa a'abud, Walaa ana 'aabidun maa 'abadttum, Walaa antum 'aabiduuna maa a'abud".
Sejuk perut, kan? And heartwarming, kan?
Although I must say, there were Nunu moments when heartwarming can have literal meaning in Malay - which means 'hati panassss'. When she would still become 'minah kacau' - the female version of her favourite villain Mat Kacau (see below pic) and really kacau me while I'm performing my prayers (I kid you not, despite my warnings, she would still come up to me, tug at my pray clothes, make funny faces and kiss my face while in tahiyat!)
She also mengada-ngada wants to nen-nen and perform stunts while I try to concentrate reading the quran or yassin. When I stop reading, she also wants to stop nursing. Gaaahhhh! Itulah dugaan waktu beribadat....
On an unrelated note, I had this twilight zone moment when she suddenly sang this song softly to herself last Saturday morning. I don't know where she learnt this song from! Certainly not from me! Macam tau-tau je birthday coming up!
Check out the pigtails!!!(hmm pigtails tak best ah, angel wings/twin tails are much nicer) ! Sorry if I sound deliriously excited, but for a girl who looks like a boy all her 23-months plus life, this is a major achievement OK? She looks sooo different in that hairstyle, reminds you of this little girl, right or not?

kiddo's mom & ira, solehah ke? hihi insya-allah, i try to instil some good values in her lah, ni pun sebab my mom tak putus pesan to read doas & hembus ubun2 all. furthermore, i stay in a kampung area and most of the times, i'm alone with nunu, so listening to surahs do keep us feeling safe a bit. in our extremely busy lives, we tend to slack and forget (i do too stimes) but alhamdulillah i get some pahala too if i share these kinda things with friends.
anul, that's what i hope for! orang kata, bagi cerah hati sikit kan, bagi dgr ayat2, a break from the influx of unwanted info she gets from too much CSI & crime dramas that she watches with me hihihi
hetz, a role mum indeed i am not! but we do learn from each other right, and those surahs i stored in my hp, it was given to me by a mom who shared the neighbouring hospital bed when nunu was warded with bronchiolitis last year! in the case of setting some good religious environment for nunu, i still can't do the things that some moms do, i.e bring kids to surau or kelas2 mengaji, hihi my moms has been pestering me to go, but i don't think she'll behave! buat malu je nanti

anyway, i was so warmed by this entry (warmed-heart..!). like the rest, i think u did a grreat job with nunu :) any tips for us? would love to know if u've got any. i've been trying to put Cat Steven's CD "A is for Allah" when we go out, but gib doesn't seem interested at all..... yet. hopefully one day..!
zalin, ye ke? alhamdulillah, but alah, setakat kasi dgr cd and surah dlm phone, anyone can do it lah! nunu just happen to be able to pick them up and loving it.
