MEME: YANG PELIK TETAPI BENAR

It's karma, baby.

Finally I've been tagged by Mama Sarah and the meme is "6 weird things about me". Nunu has done this twice and I had to consult her on how to play this game (yeah she just learnt this game off pat, LOL). Like they say, what goes around, comes around. So if you wanna know how quirky I am, read on.

1. Yang pelik #1 - I don't eat ketchup. EVER. Tomato or chili. Anything red. In a packet or in a bottle. They just put me off. I cringe if it's on my plate, a blob of red on my eggs or drizzled on top of my nasi goreng pattaya. Another poor soul's meal (usually the makan companion lah) will have to be swapped with mine. I remember being ribbed by my family & friends to the point of tears for this reason. So how do I eat my fries, you ask? I dunk them in my sundae. I tell you, hothot fries, then coldcold ice-cream... hmmm syiok!

2. Yang pelik #2 - The people who know that I have an 'allergic' reaction to ketchup, are perplexed at my high threshold for spicy food though. I have no problems with sambals (except sambal belacan - I take my ulams without it).

3. Yang pelik #3 - Green means "Go", but red traffic lights, to me, means that it's the appropriate time to apply lipstick, hand lotion and clip my nails (or Nunu's). Eh, then 90 seconds you just wanna let pass just like that? I even used to take pics of Nunu at traffic stops, hehe

4. Yang pelik #4 - I cannot wear strappy sandals or kitty heels or whatever those girly shoes are called. I have only a pair of bulky manly shoes and a very weather beaten Scholl sandals that I bought to accommodate my puffy feet during pregnancy (which I wear only to 'siram my pokok bunga' - very the mak datin you!). Reason being I have the ugliest pair of feet. Dry skin due to chronic eczema and hereditary bunions - not a pretty sight. And I wear socks all the time.

5. Yang pelik #5 - I have zilch grammar knowledge. For example, I can't even explain to my niece the difference between 'of' and 'off' grammatically. My teachers used to think that it's weird that I make mistakes for grammar quizzes, but I usually get the highest marks for essays & compositions, with minimal grammar mistakes. Nowadays, I just don't care about perfect grammar (and spelling) anymore. Well, that explains a lot, eih?

6. Yang pelik #6 - The first thing I'll do when I get home is to turn on the TV. Yup, I just can't stand total silence. I must hear the TV (not the radio, not the ipod or opid or whatever) blaring even as a background sound, when I'm in the shower, in the kitchen or eating at the dining table. If I can help it, I'd sleep with the TV switched on too ( I do that on most nights, sleep in front of the TV while waiting for Martian to come home from bowling practice) It's a habit stemmed since childhood, as Tok told me that I'd wake up & scream if someone switches off the TV during my naps.

There. That wasn't so hard, was it? I just had to get it on the roll. I was stumped for days to do this meme, as I can't think of my quirks as quickly as I thought of Nunu's, but I'm just as weird as my daughter after all, LOL.

I'd love the tag other people, but I feel that it's madness since I've tagged so many people with the same meme, though I'm soooo tempted to pass the baton to you, Mynn. Maybe I should start my own meme like "5 things that my spouse find I'm hot" or "my 5 favourite movies/songs" or "ten things I'd like to do before I die" or ... you get my drift.
