As you all know, since Nunu has started toddling, she has become a little bit more adventurous. The former scaredy-cat now scoots off to the kitchen or the laundy room in a split second, usually side-stepping me or her abah when we try to 'kepung' her. She still pitter patters with the gait of an octogenarian, but my, what a speedy one!
Her latest obsession is the fridge now. Yup, we have a fridge-raider, ladies and gentlemen. Before, I had to disconnect the gas head (apa tu? kepala gas, kan?) coz she loves to play with the oven dials so much. It's a matter of time before she discovers the treasures underneath the kitchen sink!
She finally 'gets' the stacking blocks and the rings. Those two 'developmental toys' were ignored for quite some time until a few nights ago, while watching TV, I noticed from the corner of my eyes that she was sitting unusually still on the floor, obviously engrossed in something. Crept up behind her and saw the rings were stacked in correct order, she was working on the blocks, fingering the colourful wheels and balls.
Nunu's speech is developing at an amazing pace. Just yesterday, she said "Na-nah" (for banana), "Nat-nat" (for coconut) and when I called her to get her diaper changed, she said "Tammmm!" (for come - OK lah my anak still pelat :)
Add those to her vocabulary of bahhll (ball), bert (bird), bit (rabbit), brook (book), tat (cat), dog, duduk, toh (jatuh), mamam, sakit (keett), nen-nen (mine, hers, and everyone else's!), nenek, and several more that I can't remember.
She tries to say "ballon" very hard, from what I could see, but it comes out as "balllowwwleeelee" *add sputtering drools and tongue sticking out effects*
Did I mention she dances? She twirls and twirls, hands up in the air like a ballerina, until she plonks down from the dizziness. Quite a songbird too, this little lady. Sings along too nursery rhymes with great gusto (esp 'Twikle twinkle' and 'Baabaa Black Sheep') and can't hardly keep her excitement when the 'Lalala' TV3 promo song is aired.
The best thing is, when I lullaby her with "Lailahaillallah" - she sings along too! Siap pejam mana & goyang kepala lagi!
When she hears the azan, pandai pula dia iqamah... sampai FIL kata, "Ish, kalau lah Nuha ni boy, besar esok boleh ganti Wan jadi bilal kat masjid." (Loosely translated : If only Nuha is a boy, then someone can replace me to be the muazzin at the mosque)
MIL retorted, "Yang cucu laki2 dua orang (Danish & Akif) tu tak pulak menurun Wan!" (Loosely translated: Too bad those two grandsons of yours didn't inherit your talent!)
OKlah, some talent pun jadilah, bukan macam rock superstar kinda talent, kan Hana, kan?

Jealousnya dengar nunu banyak sangat vocab. Amar still "Baaaahhh" aje dalam his dictionary :( and he's nearly 2!
I echo Mama Sarah's sentiment when I say I would like to be able to speak better. My vocabulary's pretty good and I'm writing quite well, but when it comes to speech .... "t .. tt.... taahhh" *tries to say car*. That's about as much I can manage. But they say girls learn faster than boys. Hmmm ....
ms, sesungguhnya she is still a cikonet. I don't think she put on weight much after the FTT incident. Please jgn jealous, like they say, kids develop at their own pace, right?
booboo, dont worry abt it. I'm sure you have more hidden talents than lil nunu!
Nunu has sure proven that she deserves being called SUperNunu, :p
Hai, bila la nak jumpa Nuha nie.. Agaknya masa lagu 'lalala' kat tv3 tu mesti joget2 dia. comelnya...
dith, there are times when the husband said to a misbehaving Nunu 'koman spanar supergirl'. I tell you, the fader pun tak larat :)

hana, aniq is veeeeeery clever too OK? Bila dah start nak bercakap so aniq tu, ha nanti tanak stop lak cam si dadam tu! hehehe
