BABY UPDATES (AND NO PICS???)

There's so many things that I wanna write about... so many things happening & so many things in my head. I'll be very Malay and quote the corny saying - 'time envy us'.

I'll start with the little one. Gosh, I'm so left behind with her developments, she's growing too fast and I barely can catch up, much less notice all of it. In terms of size and weight, she was only 7.25kg at the 8th month check-up. But I read that the weight won't increase much, particularly if the baby is breastfed. This is because most breastfed babies don’t gain as much weight during the last six months of the first year as formula fed babies.

Other than that, hmm let's see...

1. She's already crawling, properly. And she scoots FAST! This happens two weeks ago, I guess. I know, who could have missed noticing her child crawling? I needed the nanny to tell me this.

2. She's pulling herself up by grabbing whatever that's stable. The sofa edges, the coffee table, the lazy susan, the bed. She fell hard on her head once at the nanny's and has learnt not to let go, but to lower her bum slowly to the lower ground before releasing her grip. Once in a while she lets go too soon & drops hard on the bum, but it's no biggie thanks to diapers :)

3. She's babbling like a nagging aunt or a 'mak nenek'! Nags when she's angry & cranky. And she lets us know her displeasure by pinching us HARD... calls out 'mamamamama' when she's looking for me (I swear) and says 'tehtehteteehteteteeeeeeh' just for fun :)

4. She kisses ME on cue!

5. Claps her hands on cue!

6. Stares at me when I say 'No' sternly.

7. Scoots away from me as fast as she could to grab whatever that catches her eye, especially when I say 'No' in a loud/panicky/refraining manner.

8. She enjoys dropping things on the floor & enjoys watching me pick them up - again, and again, and again...

9. During feeding, she stretches her arms straight and beats on my chest. Debik... debik... sakit tau...

10. She's more interested in her books than her toys (unless it's chewable. the toy, that is.) Another entry for this one. I promise.

Ok, not so much on her development, I guess. More like what's in her bag of tricks.

I bet her bag is bigger next month.

Ok lah, maybe just ONE picture.

Aunty Anne, have you taught Nunu how to come down safely from your bed or sofa, ie, lie down flat on tummy, turn, let legs dangle over bed/sofa, then slowly go down until feet touch the ground? Very important skill! :)
