THE UGLY VIRUS

After a fitful sleep last night, a trip to the doctor's confirmed that it wasnt eczema after all, but a harmless viral infection. The skin was red and patchy, but not dry or scratchy. But I still bet it's itchy.

Everyone told me it's some sort of campak - Orang Melayu panggil campak cengkam la, campak air lah, cacar lah. When questioned the doctor said all campaks are viruses, but what's important this one is not to be worried of. I can breathe a relieved sigh now and not think of the worst - like meningitis or something.

The temperature's back to normal, her throat is clear. With the new medication the nice doctor prescribed, the rashes will go away within a few days.

Get well soon Nunu. Momma needs some sleep!

Malays have such funny names for things, right, like 'campak'.

"Oh no, I've got the 'throws'. Someone take me to the doctor!" :D

'Campak cengkam' is what? Throw-grab syndrome?

Maybe it's called campak coz the red dots all 'scattered' on the skin, kot.
