I'M A GREEN EYED MOMSTER

I know this is basi news, but did u know that Oprah threw the world's biggest baby shower in 2004? Just saw this a few days ago and went agog!

OMG, talk about the Power of O! Those lucky soldier moms sure went bonkers over the surprise gifts, goodies and celebrity endorsements. First I was slowly turning green, then I got red when I realize those expecting moms are either soldiers or wives of soldiers who were dispatched to Iraq, "to protect their country"(yeah, and to pillage and plunder another) . If they think they're getting my sympathy, think again. Next election just vote for that dumb*** president of yours.

One thing that gave me the squirms is the live broadcast of a mom giving birth. There's just something distasteful the way they did it, live some circus act or a freak show. I mean, yeah the birth of a baby is a miracle - yadayadayada - but not everyone wants to see a grunting woman or can stomach the bloodfest.

Some may view it as an obvious display of materialism, with all those sponsorship, hell, everyone gets what they wants and everyone has something to gain. Only Miss Oprah can pull a publicity stunt of this grandiose proportion.

From another standpoint, I think this validates my opinion that she must be the most brilliant woman alive. We already know who is the most popular and the most powerful woman in America (sorry, not you, 'Condor'leeza). I remember writing a report about her for an English assignment (titled 'My Idol' or something, cant remember), and the teacher - always impressed with my ehem - way with words - commented that I chose the most interesting and meritable individual to write about.

You see, who would give away a Pontiac to 267 total strangers? Although the catch was, the benefactee would discover later, nothing is exactly free, but hey, when you have a top-rating talk show, anything is possible.

Back to the baby shower, a lifesaver was the Hollywood celebrities came up to the screen and introduces their "gifts" for the moms. Ben Afflect was rather charming, though he "mistakenly" thought that he was invited to have a shower with 700 women (yeah, you wish!). Another thing that made me squel is when Heather Locklear chirped, "Now you guys get some sleep now, coz it ain't gonna happen again!"

How true!

And guess what? Found this lovely M'sian online store : www.chomelbox.com, and they have Baby Einsten! Yeay, the search is over!

*Note to self: Must get that DVD player fixed, pronto.

ajab, i think if u get it frm this site, it'll be much cheaper right, since RM is only 1/2 of Sg dollar.

pinky, i like oprah too since i kecik lagi, but i think now i'm more of a david letterman's kinda girl. I have a huge respect for her, but her show is now a lil mild for me. Tapi her celeb interview mmg BEST. Did u catch the one with Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood?
